#50YearsAgoToday The Saginaw News (MI) ran this blurb about the #SixMillionDollarMan ep "The Blue Flash" revealing a behind-the-scenes tidbit #RodneyAllanRippy's scene with #LeeMajors includes a hamburger because Rippy was famous for his Jack in the Box hamburger commercials. Published 11-15-1975.
#50YearsAgoToday More from #LeeMajors as he talks with Jerry Coffey of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) about all things #SixMillionDollarMan. Mentioned again is the #BionicWoman spinoff — he's not thrilled about it; "I may have to fight it. I have to protect myself." Published Thu., Oct. 30, 1975.
#50YearsAgoToday #LeeMajors himself revealed that #LindsayWagner was "involved" in an upcoming #SixMillionDollarMan spinoff. "Capricorn Man" was another spinoff in the works — which would become "The Ultimate Imposter." FYI Lee doesn't care for the idea "I can't help but feel it will hurt our show."
The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) declares: "Battle of the Bionics!" with "Guest star: Monty Markham" in their image promo for the Six Million Dollar Man episode “The Bionic Criminal" — a sequel to fan-favorite episode "The Seven Million Dollar Man." TRIVIA: Two strange things happen in this episode: Alan Oppenheimer returns as Dr. Rudy Wells POST his replacement by Martin E. Brooks. Presumably to smoothly connect both episodes as they feature Rudy. It's Oppenheimer's 9th appearance in the role but it will be his last. Brooks will return and take over fully in both shows starting with "Welcome Home, Jaime." The other oddity is Barney's last name. In "Seven Million Dollar Man" it was "Miller." But in "Crminal" it's "Hiller." Presumably because the TV sitcom "Barney Miller" had premiered since "Seven" and had grown in popularity. Perhaps the marketing department at ABC/Universal thought Monte Markham needed a name change as well since they print his first name as "Monty" in this advertisement. Published on this date Sunday, November 9, 1975
