They have desaturated light brown fur, an off-white underside, darker ears and their right eye in a state of partial closure with additional leopard spots above and beneath it. The design is a fusion between the lioness with a black eye from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and the female cub in "the Burdens" litter from the I Hope So webcomic.
A lioness with a black eye seen in a few background shots in The Lion King II, chiefly the fight scene Zira had with Simba's pride. They grin malevolently in the rain with mud on their underside. The possibly-injured right eye has some nondescript dot patterns beneath it, unable to open fully.
