Just finished a fabulous few days at #LILAC26! So grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the full conference, plenty of inspiration and food for thought. Thanks to @lilacconf.bsky.social and @sheffielduni.bsky.social, plus the sponsors and anyone else I may have interacted with 😊
My talk about hobbyist mushroom enthusiasts was live blogged by @pammckinney.bsky.social who has done a fanrastic job along with @sheilawebber.bsky.social at documenting #LILAC26 information-literacy.blogspot.com/2026/04/all-...
It was a lovely privilege to have my friend, former colleague and fellow PhD student @woodsiegirl.bsky.social introduce my talk at #LILAC26 Our opportunity to clear up any confusion by our spookily similar names and career paths over whether we are the same person.
That @lilacconf.bsky.social know to run an outstanding conference. I saw so many great presentations but missed so many more, three days just wasn't enough. Great support from @sheffielduni.bsky.social in keeping us fed, watered and going in the right directions. Thanks to the organisers #LILAC26

Two #LILAC26 talks delivered and I’ve loved bringing more leisure research and embodied info to the info lit community. Extremely grateful to the School of Information, Journalism and Communication at Sheffield for funding to attend.

It’s time to say goodbye to Sheffield and #LILAC26 - it’s been a great conference with so many highlights! My fave was probably the zine workshops with Penn State Uni - looking forward to making some zines!
Fabulous three days at the LILAC Conference with lots of networking and an international audience! It was nice to be back in Sheffield again, while the hotel must have known I like football with the view from my room! #LILAC26 #infolit #digilit #usered
Keep the conversation going and share the exciting ideas & innovations you’re going to try out. We’d love to hear about anything you do as a result of coming to #LILAC26

The City St George’s, University of London logo features a white background with the university’s crest at the top. The crest is mainly red and includes a shield with an off‑centre cross positioned to the left. Sitting above the shield is a helmet, and above that, a small flame. The whole crest is framed by decorative, leaf‑like shapes you’d typically see on a traditional coats of arms. Just below the crest, there’s a thin red line. Under that, the word CITY appears in large black capital letters. Beneath it, the words ST GEORGE’S are written in black capitals as well, matching the width of “CITY.” Another red line separates this from the final line of text, which reads UNIVERSITY OF LONDON, again in black capitals and the same width as the text above.
We’re so excited to reveal that the location of #LILAC27 will be City St George’s, University of London @citystgeorges.bsky.social We hope to see you all there next year. Thank you to everyone that joined us at #LILAC26 and safe journey home.

We had a great panel discussion about copyright anxiety, legal chill, copyright literacy and legal advice at this year's LILAC conference in Sheffield. Huge thanks to our panel and to the #lilac26 organisers for having us back.
A short write up on the panel we ran at #lilac26 on Monday on teaching copyright as part of information literacy - it's not legal advice... but is it IL? copyrightliteracy.org/2026/03/31/c...
If you’ve been inspired by #LILAC26 & you’re planning your own project or research, or if you’re one of our amazing presenters, you should also think about writing for publication. Take a look at the @jinfolit.bsky.social for advice & information.
Hearing about the experiences of a dyslexic student taking an information literacy module. Reflecting on how dyslexia shapes information seeking and use of university systems. As a fellow dyslexic student I’m familiar with these institutional issues! #LILAC26
