A large black cat sits under a table, staring into the aether. Clarise appears to be having an existential crisis. She probably is. DaMama was on new psych meds at the time and was experiencing Mania for the first time ever. DaMama had been awake for nearly 2 days cleaning. Clarise was SHOOK.

Clarise sits in a black, plastic landscaping wagon. She is looking curiously to the sky. To her right, DaMama's leg can be seen clad in turquoise scrb pants. This was one of Clarise's very first outing in her very own yard. Until then, she had only been able to explore the outside via a small balcony.

Clarise lays in the floor next to her Cat Dad. He is laying on his back, stretched out with his phone in his hand. She is next to him mimicking him. She is on her back with her front paws curled onto her chest and her hand legs straight out on the floor. Both are watching the television in the background.

Clarise wears a white, fuzzy cape with hood and ears. She is being held by DaMama and clearly unimpressed by these shenanigans.

She rules the clowder with an iron fist. If she had thumbs, she'd put a horse head on your pillow so you knew she was displeased with you. 4/4

She has some wrinkles on her chest and belly and sagging skin on her legs. Her primordial pouch (cookie sack) is wrinkled up on the floor underneath her and covering her back feet. She is adorable.

(The camera person always gets yelled at and she always tries to bite, even half-heartedly, before stretching big and accepting her fate.)

This is a side-by-side photo of Clarise before and after her first shave, approximately 6 months ago The left side photo shows a very large, round black cat with a small head and collar around her neck. She sits outside in the sun on a deck. The right side photo was taken 1 week later. Clarise has had a lion's cut and appears half the size of the other cat. Her body is shaved short, but her legs have been left long, as well as her 'mane'. She is no longer round and her proportions are more noticeable. Clarise is not overweight. She was, indeed, fluffy.

She has decided that she enjoys her short haircuts as they are much easier to keep up than all of that medium-hair and double coat. She refuses to accept apologies for calling her 'fat' all her life. It turns out she really was just fluffy.

This is Clarise, newly shaved, sitting up on her butt in a brown chair. One of her hind legs sticks up in the air as she attempts to groom herself. Her tail lays straight in front of her and she balances on a single front paw.

Clarise lays, head outside of the door of her soft sided carrier, in an undignified position with her eyes glazed over and tongue hanging out. She looks dead, but is, indeed, simply drunk from a visit to the vet. Sedation is required because she is spicy with stranger danger. This photo is from a year ago and she has more than recovered.

More than once, she has told Lt. Dan, "Keep going and I will kill you and tell Bastet you died." She moves slower these days, but her claws and teeth are no less sharp. Her fearless vet says for a senior, she is quite sassy and in good health. 2/4
