#Update on the #Oakland #elections: #BarbaraLee has taken the lead in the Oakland mayoral race by 5,000 votes or 52% of the vote, surpassing #LorenTaylor ’s 47%. On #ElectionNight, Taylor led 51-48%. 300 vote-by-mail ballots remain to be verified, with postmarked ballots accepted until Tuesday.

First choice votes show Barbara Lee over 50% at this point in the counting.

#Update: Fmr #Oakland Council Member #LorenTaylor took the lead Tuesday night with nearly 49% of the vote in the race for #mayor. Taylor took the lead against fmr #Congresswoman #BarbaraLee, who had nearly 45% of the vote.

The front-runners for Dist. 2 are Fmr City Councilman #LorenTaylor and Fmr #CongresswomanBarbaraLee.

Dist. 2 residents will elect a new council member after #NikkiFortunatoBas was elected as #AlamedaCounty supervisor.

Also to vote on is #MeasureA, increasing the local sales tax by a 1/2 cent.

Finally watched the #oakland mayoral debate. I have been profoundly proud to call #barbaralee as my rep in congress but I found #lorentaylor quite intriguing I heard much more specific ideas from him. Haven’t voted yet so feel free to offer a counter argument. I’m keeping an open mind.
