Another splendid display of Cowslips, this time at LRWT Merry’s Meadows reserve This SSSI has a superb range of wildflowers later in the spring including thousands of Green-winged Orchids.

Cribb’s Meadow NNR, near South Witham, is carpeted with cowslips at present. A beautiful and increasingly rare opportunity to see such an extensive spread.

My first female Mandarin Duck of the year. Actually, it was hard to miss, as it was under the feeders at the Lyndon Reserve, Rutland water. Paired male aslo present. #LRWT
Not great pictures but we were very pleased to see our first Ospreys of the year - Maya and 33(11). Pictured near the nest platform, opposite the Waderscrape hide at Rutland water. That is Maya on the nest. #LRWT
Great Osprey cruise on the Rutland Belle last night with Elizabeth + team. Lots of sightings including an unringed bird with a failed dive and a distant 33(11) with a successful catch that ended up back on the nest, on the webcam. Light too poor to get the ring numbers. #LRWT #RutlandWater
