It's been two weeks and it's still so tough, I catch myself moving carefully through the place at night lest I accidentally give him a kick because he was laying in some random spot.

There were two glorious summers before he got his diagnosis when there was a little ice cream stand and he got a pup cup most of the time - even if I wasn't getting anything. He loved those so much and nothing else hit the same for him.

We started doing pizza day because when Thursday rolls around I feel pretty lazy. There were a lot of benefits for Lucky (I haven't had a pizza crust in years), but for whatever reason, the process of tossing the crust would drive him insane.

I was a horrible trainer - at best Lucky could fetch and come at an beginner level. Sit, paw, and give kiss worked pretty well though.
The last two were the final.commandd we shared, and I miss holding his paw and even his slobbery mouth.

I reverse-hyoed today to myself, but it was a long day and mostly a numb day. I spent a while looking at old photos of Lucky with my niece talking about our memories.
Looking at his last few months I suppose it was easier to see what everyone else did, how much he was declining.

I am having a bad time
On the lower right corner of the community board, is a flyer about Lucky the Dog encouraging people to take a waste bag. Hanging below the flyer also pinned the board is a bag full of Douglas bags, left over after he passed

He was such a a big guy - 90lbs+ at his peak. He was great to hug, to rest against. When all the little people were around they liked to rest on him too.
He was allegedly the runt when we got him. My niece and I would watch the Clifford cartoon...

His value as a kitchen vacuum could not be overstated. He was almost always underfoot when I was making something and I loved that he was right there (even if it was just in case of food)

One of the little things I used to do with luck was singing songs. I just swap out his name or dog for nouns or just have random dog words.
