Hundreds of miles up the west coast, north of the singing pools, surrounded by the black cliffs of Narok, you will find Dragon's Reach. This ancient dwelling, hewn from glistening black rock and a little sorcery, is the home of wise old Grizel, the sea witch. Stories about Grizel have been passed on for centuries, telling of her life-saving potions, affinity with wild beasts, kindness and wicked sense of humour. Dragon's Reach rises from the black sands and jagged dark rocks beneath it, a precarious winding stone staircase being the only way in or out which can only be scaled at low tide. Grizel spends most days foraging for precious ingredients for her famous concoctions. She wears tattered layers of once lustrous embroidered fabrics, a sturdy basket on her back to carry all that she finds and a thick leather belt that has various tools dangling from it, fastened with leather thongs and makeshift knots. On one hip she carries the hollowed-out tooth of a great beast from the deep, which she uses as a horn to call sea creatures to shore to commune with them. Once a year she travels many miles inland, riding on the back of a wild gorok, with baskets on the saddle and glass bottles dangling from its horns. She seeks magical herbs and berries which cannot be found on the coast. As she travels through small settlements on the outskirts of Strangehollow, she trades with hunters and other wizards and witches, sourcing rare and potent artefacts, animal bones and other ingredients.
