A long plunge pool of clear green water is encircled on three sides by rugged sandstone cliffs. A modest waterfall is tumbling down the cliff at the far end, replenishing the pool. A sole large tree and a few bushes have established themselves on a ledge just above water level, and there are glimpses of much heavier vegetation in the immediate foreground where the pool flows out into Maguk creek.

Maguk Falls and plunge pool, Kakadu

Not as spectacular as some of the Kakadu falls, but the plunge pool is beautiful to swim in, calm, clear, cool and deep.
