Just under a month until the Great Dorset Beach Clean! After a spectacular turn out for our beach cleaning championship in February we're hoping to see plenty of you joining us in Charmouth on April 12th at 10am! Let's keep our beaches litter free this Easter. #MarineMonday
We are gearing up to fill our fish tank for the season in the next couple of weeks!
Don't forget we have an Easter Egg Case Hunt and Seashore Safari over the school holidays, where you can come and learn all about the fascinating creatures below the waves! #MarineMonday
It won't be long before we start to fill our catch and release tank with this season's coastal creatures! Be sure to come check it out or join us on one of our Seashore Safaris on April 2nd and 16th to see them in the wild, booking online! #MarineMonday
We also thank team Recyclosaurus Rex for making us some fossil themed cup cakes to look forward to afterwards! Well done everyone who participated, you all did an amazing job to clean our beach! #MarineMonday (5/5)
We saw a lot of it on our fossil hunting walk this weekend, but sadly the rough weather and the big swells have dumped lots of marine rubbish on the beaches.
We've been doing what we can but we need more hands! Join us this Sunday, 15th of Feb, at 10am for our next beach clean! #MarineMonday

#MarineMonday In December I did underwater photography in Papua New Guinea. Not my forte, but I persevered thanks to excellent dive masters. I love the graceful silver swoop of this school of blackfin barracuda over a coral reef in New Britain.

We've been battered by storms this #MarineMonday and there is plenty of debris which will need cleaning away!
Join us for our Charmouth Beach Cleaning Championships on 15th Feb, for your chance to win the grand trophy and make our beaches safer for wildlife at the same time!
Did you know polar bears in Hudson Bay are considered marine mammals? ๐ง
While they may look at home on land, these Arctic icons rely on the oceanโand sea iceโfor survival. Hudson Bay is one of the southernmost regions where polar bears live.

Hundreds of pea-sized plastic pellets, in a variety of colours. They are in a plastic butter tub.
A big congratulations to the primary schools who came out nurdle hunting with us in November! The count is in and they managed to find 800 pellets between the two classes, and 30 colourful beads from necklaces! #MarineMonday
โจ We have an important question to ask you this #MarineMonday! ๐ฌ

A big shout out to the school groups and public who have helped us get started on filling our nurdle tube for the third time! That's over 5000 nurdles and biobeads collected just this month that have been littering our beaches, thank you for all your help! #MarineMonday
Itโs #marinemonday and this weekend we said goodbye to our rockpool creatures from the catch and release tank! Weโve done a deep clean on the tank for next season, and temporarily filled it for the winter with the firework debris we found on yesterdayโs #beachclean
Weโve were joined by Taunton College plumbing students 3 days last week who came to beach clean and collect nurdles and bio beads. They did a tremendous effort including removing a floating patch of beads from the river Char. #marinemonday
๐ฆ Shark of the Day! ๐
Todayโs spotlight goes to the Basking Shark โ the oceanโs gentle giant! Despite being the second largest shark in the world, itโs totally harmless, feeding only on plankton with its massive, open mouth.๐

The super low tides are great for fossil hunting but also showcasing the incredible marine life. Thursdays lowest tide saw fish and eels, explosions of sea anemones, shells and ray egg cases which we recorded for The Shark Trust #marinemonday
