Fire and Ice teabowls. Inspired by my time in Iceland. Pinch-formed matcha bowls in a dark groggy clay with white and red textured accents.
More pinch-formed teabowls. A rare foray into bold color for me. I tend to lean more earthy. But experiments beget experiments, and now I have about 100 colored slip tests in the works. Aiming for more layered subtlety but I do love these!

Winter mist teabowl. Textured clay with a landscape rim and a dusting of light pinkish/purple slip.
My newest pottery passion? Teabowls! They’ve been a nonstop source of joy to make since I took a workshop with Andrew Sartorious (is he on Bluesky?) last summer. This was the first I finished and truly loved.

前回、乾燥させたら縦に縮んで土に帰った『雨雲』。
今回は素焼きまで良い感じになって焼けました。

本阿弥光悦 銘『雨雲』削りました。
写してみて「あ、乙御前の時と同じや！」という気づきがありました。
宗易形の茶盌を削る時は手轆轤の上（樂家は丸い板の上）に乗せて削ります。
本阿弥光悦先生の茶盌の美しい丸い腰は、削らずにずっと掌の上に載せている事で出来るのです。
手轆轤や板の上に乗せると、美しい腰の曲線が崩れてしまいます。
この『雨雲』の丸い腰も、2時間以上掌に乗せて、ある程度固まって形が崩れなくなってから削り始めました。
細部までこだわりましたので、これ一個を削るのに5時間近くかかりました😂

本日、公園に本焼きに行きました。
今回は久々の大失敗😅
窯から出した直後はすごく良い感じだったんですけど、急冷したら思いっきり釉が剥げました…嗚呼😭
その他は黒と赤一個ずつです。
また改めてご紹介出来ればと思います😊

長次郎『俊寛』写し、削り終わりました。
最近、長次郎写しばかり（笑）
ありがたい事に、手持ちの図録にこの茶盌の断面図が載ってます。
長次郎作品にしてはかなりの薄作りです。
負けじと穴が開くギリギリまで攻め込んで削りました😆

今日の一番の出来は、山田山庵さんばりの作為に富んだ赤楽です🍵
まあまあ良い雰囲気で焼けましたので、また後ほどご紹介させていただきます☺️
今日は、市内の認定こども園の「鍋っこ遠足」のご一行と一緒になりまして、肉団子汁とサラダをご相伴に預かりました😆

加茂川石粉作りのために、とうとう石臼を買いました。
これまでは乳鉢で砕いていたのですが、余りにも時間と労力がかかり過ぎ😭
これで多少は効率よく石粉が出来れば良いのですが😂
