This gorilla is 50 years old and still nursing orphans. Why? At 50, Fredrika, a gorilla at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, is 13 years past her average lifespan, yet is still raising babies.

"Fredrika, known to zoo staff as 'Freddy', is a mother of 12, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She is also the primary caretaker of two young gorillas whose mothers rejected them at birth, Kayembe and Jameela."
