These projects were started by my friend and collaborator, Julia Collins. We worked together on individual #mathscraft artworks in Edinburgh. She had to go to the other side of the world to get formal support. She's still there.
25 years ago I started using the term #mathscraft to describe some schools workshops that used craft activities to convey mathematical concepts. It's wonderful to see how this has grown and spread since Maths Year 2000 Scotland.

Catching up with yesterday's #januarty prompt, #plant, with a couple of images from Botanica Mathematica. In 2013, Julia Collins and I started this community participation #mathscraft project with #binarybonsai knitted or crocheted trees. We collected and classified around 80 specimens over 4 years.
