☢️#199. Death Run, 1987. Feeling not unlike a lost episode of #GarthMarenghisDarkPlace, this charmingly awkward British take on the #maxploitation subgenre is a no budget #sobaditsgood treasure. Punks vs mutants vs cannibals vs competence, all set to rockin’ 80s score. 2.5/5 ☢️
☢️#105. Raiders of the Sun, 1992. It’s a #Santiago clearance sale, everything must go! A mishmash of the directors previous #maxploitation “efforts” are repeated ad nauseam. Cast, costumes, props, locations, vehicles, even full scenes. A brilliantly cynical production. 1.5/5 ☢️
☢️#99. Stryker, 1983. Action schlock director #Santiago checks all the requisite #maxploitation boxes without adding much besides 80s cheese, a surprising number of tanks, and his continued need to force “Jawas” into the #postapocalyptic lexicon. Fun stuff. #sobaditsgood 2/5 ☢️
☢️#89. Endgame, 1983. Predating #TheRunningMan, this televised bloodsport satire starts out interestingly, but quickly devolves into a cliche riddled #postapocalyptic escort mission. Still a step up from director #JoeDAmato’s standard #maxploitation output. #sobaditsgood 3/5 ☢️
2020 Texas Gladiators (1984) Joe D'Amato & George Eastman co-directed this #Maxploitation about villagers trying to take back a salt mine that has been overrun by post-apocalyptic bikers. Some of them had cowboy hats, because Texas. Lots of shooting, little dialog. With Sabrina Siani.
