Artwork depicts a taho vendor, giving a cup of taho to Mermaid Josie on the edge of a boardwalk. The text on the bottom left reads: "week 4 - street food | taho". Taho, or "sweet tofu", is a warm cup of silky tofu, sago pearls and brown sugar syrup. It was one of my favourite treats to brave the Philippine sun for when we last visited. Vendors always carried two large buckets for the three ingredients: the smaller bucket was usually split in half to contain both the syrup and the sago pearls, while the big bucket had the tofu. The vendor would simply mix scoops from each bucket into a plastic cup to hand out to people!

Art depicts a dark coral reef. A mermaid peeks out from beneath some coral and is saying "excuse me...". Eyes are looking on from the darkness. This is more of a practice that I was taught by my dad the last time we went to the Philippines: always say "excuse me" when you're entering the wilder, untouched areas of nature—you don't want to disturb the spirits that may be there.

I’m thinking about revisiting this. I WILL finish at some time.

A group of mermaids playing patintero. I never really grew up playing this, but I learned about patintero from my dad: basically, you have a tagger guarding a line, and runners trying to cross that line. The tagger can only move along the line to tag the runners!
