It's been a very chilly day in LA, thanks to June Gloom, which on the Westside has lasted all day.
So it seemed obvious that i was tapping into the menu of soups in the freezer & chili seemed perfect for this chilly day

I 💙 this soup, esp bec of the cross cultural traditional roles it has for different cultures
It's a N. African soup, made several ways. It's eaten by ME Muslims to break Ramadan fast & by ME Sephardic Jews to break the Yom Kippur fast.

Did you know that it isn't served at weddings?
Minestra maritata means wedded/married broths bec of the way the ingredients blend together. Also, the soup originated in Spain before making its way to Naples.
