My Iris are starting to bloom. This area of #MiddleTennessee is in a moderate drought. I'm having to water all the flowers. A drought in April isn't normal. I hope this isn't an indication of what's in store for the summer.

I got up just at the right moment. Two photos from the back porch looking north and two photos from the front porch looking south. There one minute; gone the next.

I was so happy on yesterday's walk to find a Tulip Poplar tree in bloom. The blooms are so beautiful but just like a tulip, they close at night. The Tulip Poplar is Tennessee's State Tree.

The Wild Violets on the north side of the house are so pretty in the area. The stems seem to be taller and the flower color more intense.

We've got a windy, warm day here in #MiddleTennessee. Temperature is around 80 degrees at our house right now. Winds are blowing the blooms off the dogwood tree and the seeds off the maple trees. The butterfly and bees I spotted were hanging onto swaying wildflowers with all their might!

Just look.....last day of March and my Peony already has buds!! It's at least a month(if not more)early this year along with most everything else that blooms in #Spring here in #MiddleTennessee.

Good Morning, Jean. At 7:30'ish it was 63 degrees here in #MiddleTennessee. We've got a mostly cloudy rain. No rain today but starting tomorrow and the next few days we have some change of getting rain which is sorely needed. Maybe it will get rid of the pollen.

Yellow Swallowtail Butterfly on Henbit Deadnettle.
It seems kind of early to be seeing butterflies in #MiddleTennessee. Third week of March and there's not many blooms for them. I'm so glad we haven't mowed the yard yet.

I think it's #DogwoodWinter here in #MiddleTennessee. Went to bed last night with the A/C running.....had to cut on the heat this morning. It's 45 degrees on our back porch now at 10 AM. We're headed for a high in the upper 50's. The good news....it won't be below freezing tonight.

I'm going to try transplanting the Chickweed and Little Leaf Buttercup to a bed so they won't get mowed down. The Wild Violets are already part of one.

We still haven't mowed the yard yet and there are patches of these little wildflowers(plus others) throughout the yard. My husband has humored me so far in not mowing....but those days will be ending this week (he swears)

We're in for a beautiful day here in #MiddleTennessee. Our high is reaching the upper 8o's. Heck that may be a little to warm for me. You know us old ladies can tolerate heat very good. I'll get outside right after breakfast here pretty soon and see how much I can get accomplished this morning.

Starting the morning just under freezing here in #MiddleTennessee. High is suppose to be in the upper 50's. I'm looking out the window at a cloudy sky. We've sure had a variety of weather the past few weeks. Covered every season I think.
