This week’s #midweekbeer is a The Pom apple beer from Brasserie Grain d’Orge in Hombourg. It’s absolutely delicious. Accompanied by Bruce Springsteen’s Lost and Found.
This week has been full on in good ways, doing all kinds of cool stuff that I wouldn’t normally be doing at work. Jean-Michel Jarre’s faultless Equinox Infinity captures the mood perfectly, with a Trappistes Rochefort 6 for company #midweekbeer
This week’s #midweekbeer was only ever going to have one accompanying record. It’s one of my own saisons, scheduled to be drunk on the first warm day of spring, and accompanied by Ginger Wildheart’s brilliant Ghost in the Tanglewood.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a Goudale Grand Cru, a really fine beer from Pas de Calais that has quite a distinctive maltiness. Accompanied by Midnight Oil’s very fine Makaratta Project album, and I might even follow it with Resist if I have time.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a Neizhan IPA all the way from Brasserie Nautile, Rezé, near Nantes. Accompanied loudly by L7.
This week’s well-anticipated #midweekbeer is a Titanic Cherry Porter accompanied by one of the all time great albums, the Stone Roses.

This week’s #midweekbeer is a favourite, a saison from Brasserie Silly. An absolute classic of the style - clean punchy bitterness and just enough sour on the aftertaste. Accompanied by another classic, Creedence’s Cosmo’s Factory.
Tired and cranky tonight. Not like me. Time for a wake-up #slaves #midweekbeer #stbernardus
Sometimes the quality of what’s in front of me is enough to give my week a little lift. This week’s #midweekbeer is a Cheddar Ales small batch Holy Grains Abbey Ale with my first listen of the rereleased American Interior (with five new additional tracks) by @gruffrhys.bsky.social on the turntable.
This week’s #midweekbeer is an amazingly good Trappistes Rochefort 8. Accompanied by my eldest son who is playing his Christmas record, Frank Turner’s Tape Deck Heart.
Early #midweekbeer tonight, a gorgeous ‘la Devine’ from brasserie Silly. I’ve settled for an old favourite for company, Seth Lakeman’s Make Your Mark.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a Fort Lapin Blanche. Soft and a little citrusy with a touch of sour, and accompanied by a Christmas money purchase, Pulp’s More. Still pissing on anything Oasis ever put out.
Gosh, that’s a mighty fine #midweekbeer. A Vipera blonde IPA from Brasserie Sutter near Paris, beautifully presented and accompanied by a Christmas record, Chris Cornell’s brilliant Euphoria Morning.
Having accidentally drunk an alcohol-free beer last night, this weeks actual #midweekbeer is a Keiler Dunkel Weissbier 😁 accompanied at my son’s request by England Keep My Bones.
My lovely wife is out tonight, so this week’s #midweekbeer is a Tuchel hefeweizen accompanied by the Manics’ Lifeblood and a chicken naga from the local Indian.
Pint of Dragon’s Breath and Johnny Flynn’s Sillion, I’ve heard it a thousand times but it always sounds fantastic #midweekbeer
Looking forward to the weekend already 🥱 This week’s #midweekbeer is a Goram IPA, accompanied by some classic Jesus and Mary Chain.
How can you improve on last week’s #midweekbeer? Well…
Guilty pleasures tonight, this week’s #midweekbeer is one of my homebrews accompanied by the Grease soundtrack.
There could only be one accompaniment tonight, after watching Deliver Me From Nowhere it has to be Nebraska. Exeter Brewery’s Darkness is the fine #midweekbeer
This week’s #midweekbeer is a homebrew (unnamed) Vienna lager, only from a kit but it’s very nice. Accompanied by the brilliant and also slightly BIY pink-folk madness of Peat and Diesel 🏴 🏝️
This week’s #midweekbeer is a pint of Trail Blazer, a 5.6% west coast pale ale from Dark Revolution in Salisbury. Every mouthful a reminder of those sweet three points. Accompanied on the vinyl by the Wildhearts, I must be in a good mood 😎 and looking forward to seeing them in Torquay in December
Owing to a lack of decent beer in either my house or the local shops, this week’s #midweekbeer is a Hobgoblin King Goblin. Sometimes the right mood music presents itself and Springsteen’s Letter to You fits the bill perfectly - a wonderful record bursting with sentimentality and big picture warmth.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a Gyle 59 Halcyon Daze wheat beer, accompanied by an early recording of Aerosmith live at Paul’s Mall in Boston. Would have loved to be around to see them in that era
And then sometimes, suddenly, the right record just pops to hand and makes me remember why I love records, and the joy of taking an evening a week to just sit and listen.
Tonight’s #midweekbeer is a St Feuillirn blonde, accompanied by the frankly astonishing Hannah Peel and Fir Wave.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a glass of the last bottle of Beaujardin Chenin from our last trip to the Cher. Accompanied by James Dean Bradfield’s Even in Exile; the lead single from that album was released five years ago yesterday.
This week’s #midweekbeer is a delicious St Feuillion Blonde, accompanied by some fantastic old-school rock from Ginger Wildheart and the Sinners. What a night in.
I need new music. No money for new music. In the meantime, this week’s #midweekbeer is a Cheddar Ales Totty Pot, accompanied by one of my favourite records, Midnight Oil’s Diesel and Dust.
