"I am so here for Twitch! The Musical"
#NCT that also counts as a #MNFringe show idea. Y'all can have that one for free
Final FINAL Fringe show: Breach. Tension and drama on a fishing boat in the face of an oncoming storm. My GOD that was fantastic. Great characters, great story, great use of tech and props. Plus the kind of physical theater I really love. I'll be watching for more from Third Space Theater. #mnfringe
Thoughts on my final Fringe shows:
GUNS! The Musical - a hilariously good time, with lots of silly references and sharp original music.
Delete Later - god DAMN, musical theatre kids are talented. And the songs in this were fantastic!
Going to try to make it to one more show tomorrow. #mnfringe
Is it just me, or is the Fringe crowd lighter this year? Parking and lines seem easier than usual. #mnfringe
Next Fringe show: La Tunda. Really tense and interesting with good characters and an intriguing mythos, but it lost me when the tone took a hard left turn at the big reveal. #mnfringe
A completed sin bingo card from Rat Mass at the Minnesota Fringe Festival
So many rat sins that were confessed #MNFringe
Gonna see some #mnfringe shows this fine* evening.
*Not a guarantee of fineness. Your results may vary. It's actually humid as balls outside. An even better reason to be inside at the theater.
Next Fringe show: Tompkins Squares. A well-acted window into life during the Cuban Missile Crisis and its parallels with some of the experiences of today. But the story didn't really go anywhere. What I imagine was supposed to be the climax didn't feel like much, and then it was over. #mnfringe
Next Fringe show: Neon Breeze. I was interested to see how they present a dystopian underground city, as that's a concept I've been working on for a novel. It smacked me in the face with the fact that Im not a writer. The worldbuilding they manage in 1 hr is far beyond anything I can do... #mnfringe
To be clear, I’m waiting for “Songs Without Words” at the Rarig X #mnfringe
A man wearing a hat sitting in a like of people in front of the University of Minnesota Rarig Experimental theatre
You know how I know when a Minnesota Fringe show is good? When there’s a like for it 90 minutes before showtime. #mnfringe
A sin bingo sheet with different symbols and a pink crayon
These sins seem very vibes-based... #MNFringe
Next Fringe show: The Big Secret. The performer is a good storyteller, and the story is an important one. This was a last-minute addition to our schedule and I'm glad we saw it, even if the secret is quite heavy. #mnfringe
Next Fringe show: In the Garden of American Heroes. Knowing about Custer, I'm not sure what I was seeking in this play about his ghost complaining about his legacy, but it wasn't quite this. The performance was fantastic, and it made powerful statements, but didn't fully connect with me. #mnfringe
Next Fringe show: That Which is Green. I'm not sure I connected the dots on the message they intended to send, but it was a strong performance. I went through several theories as to what the metaphor was supposed to represent. Was I correct? Who knows. Does it matter? Not really. #mnfringe
Someone please tell me that they've been to the Minnesota Fringe Festival this year and how good the shows are?
Let me enjoy it vicariously through your expriences, since I can't be there myself this year.
#MNFringe
Next Fringe show: Opera Punks. Anyone who's watched my Let's Plays knows I enjoy improvised singing. 😅 This group is REALLY good at it. This was an entertaining hour of clever musical fun. (Let it be known: Polar bears actually hate Coca-Cola.) #mnfringe
Next Fringe show: A Song in the Dark. A father and son duo trying to fight the growing darkness in America with art. Really funny and creative, while expressing a lot of the fears and frustrations most of us are feeling. And they do the fourth-wall thing in a far more effective way. #mnfringe
