They are great architects, digging complicated tunnel systems underground to house their colonies. In larger colonies, the tunnels can extend more than a mile, and reach a depth of 2 meters ⛏️

Their scientific name is Heterocephalus glaber, which means “different-headed” and “hairless”, a pretty on-the-nose description!
