Sorpernt's eyes are said to possess a nightmarish power that turns folks violently paranoid of others around them. Tamers use hard steel to nail it's eyes shut because whole towns have destroyed themselves whenever it crawls on the surface. (con't)

Venisin- Otherworldly Glimpse
"Monster scientists debate on whether or not the hole in its chest is where it simply concentrates its magical energy, or if it's actually a portal from another world."

Concept Monster for the Monster Crown design contest. Demonic cervid-like beast with a canine-like head. Complete with a single sideways eye in the middle of its head, two antennae sprouting from where eyes would be on a normal beast. Thin horns on the top of its head, long thin tail, and what's essentially a black hole in the middle of its body

My entry is Optigris, the Wicked Watcher!

Optigris‘ eyes can unleash devastating dark energy and can see through physical objects to spot prey. However, these eyes are a double edged sword that are also its weak spots. Optigris has stripes in an attempt to hide them.

Phasmoetia - The Bleeding Stake

A large, territorial monster that makes its home in forest clearings. While its body is frail, and resembles that of desiccated wood, the blood that flows through its body has potent magical properties. By separating the magical plasma from its blood and letting it seep into the cracks in its shell, Phasmoetia can channel magic power through sigils that empower its body, giving it far greater strength and defensive abilities.

By secreting plasma through the openings on its forelimbs, Phasmoetia draws similar sigils as those on its body around its territory. While posing as a dead tree, it uses these sigils to monitor for intruders, or trap prey that comes too close.

My submission for the #monstercrowndesigncontest, Silclio!

This mysterious monster floats aimlessly at sea, motionless until something comes within range of its tentacles. Contact with those tentacles induces a catatonic stupor, with the worst victims entering a coma from which they never wake.

Hoping my sense of creativity pulls the weight for my lack of artistic skill...
I've also attached an alternate color scheme and some further reading (including a short story I freewrote!)
Good luck everyone :)

"Abyss's Venom, Cuttlprinus"

This creature is inspired by jellyfish, cuttlefish, and inkcap fungi. It's for #monstercrowndesigncontest.
It inhabits abyssal waters, unless shallow waters are polluted, and if it touches you, you will definitely wish you were dead, either because of the pain or venom.

digital art of a creature that looks like a five-horned goat with tentacles, colored a sickly yellow and deeper green. "i imagined it moving by dragging itself along..." "emaciated body with six tentacles and a big ol' head."

my entry for the #monstercrowndesigncontest YAAAAY
since it's an unstable devil, i imagined it being physically weak but incredibly strong magically/mentally :) and struggling to lift itself up because of its huge heavy head. enjoy my creature

Since the contest asks for an Unstable Demon, I came up with this: something like a Fallen Ophanim, with tentacles instead of wheels and suckers instead of eyes. I can't draw but you get the idea.

Throwing my hat in the ring for #monstercrowndesigncontest
Introducing... THIS THING (Codename: Dullahound)

Take care traveling at night, Tamers. The warmth of a puppy made of soft flames may seem inviting, especially with how it dances and wags it's tail at you... But be very afraid, you are prey.

The Main Lore:

Gorelacus is a notorious demon that hails from the
seas of Crown Nation. It superficially resembles an
Eel or Oarfish, but due to its unstable
nature and violent fighting style is always falling apart, held
together by it's intense magic and instinctual desire to
commit harm. It seems to feel no pain, and fights without
care about the damage its body recieves, as its skeleton
moves freely both in and out of it supposed musculature .

Gorelacus hunts by luring in and disorienting both
man & monster with its beautiful lights emmited from its
fins, spots, and fins, attracting sailors and less discerning
monsters before blasting them apart using
powerful magic, and then cutting them apart
with its sharp bones and teeth. While often found out in
sea, they have also shown up in caverns with
bodies of water too, presumably connected to the
ocean via underwater caverns.

Its power is enough to freely take down some of the most
feared seaborne monsters such as Epheal and
Myrksormr. While it will kill most anything it
encounters, they seem to favor hunting down
full packs Syleendra. It is unknown why they do this,
but it is thought to be connected to Gorealcus'
ability to produce Bio-luminescent light.

Top left:
Retracted skeleton makes its eyes
look blank, and the inner luminescense
is hidden. It seems like an unassuming
but pretty & glowy fish
until you get close......

Top Middle: Skull/Skeleton are warped and unnatural, but
is superficially similar to that of an Eel, complete
with indents and grooves. Its inner body is lined
with sharp protrusions, which it uses to slice enemies, but
in the process it can tear its own skin off, not that it seems to
mind.

You can read about its design elements and lore on the image itself, but I've put the main journal-esque entry lore piece and the top left info in the Alt Text for those who need it :)
