The context here is that Cherryblossom (along with her slightly older sister, Lavender) read Moonrise behind the scenes, but, as Geists (their primary form and their species), it was for the effort of searching for a different species so they could adapt their secondary form. Cherryblossom did gain her secondary form from the comic, but to her, it also came with loads of love for Rae the very moment she first laid her eyes upon. That immense love made Cherryblossom sew a doll out of Rae's likeness. This is just me and my mind both being silly.
