Cindy shares an example in difference of captioning from French and Vietnamese, emphasizing the oversimplification of the caption when translated into French. Students used prompts with ChatGPT and CoPilot to explore how Generative AI could fill the gaps in research. Both chat bots were able to improve the naming of materials, but used articles not found in the archive. Responses were used as a guide instead. #MSUDH #DH

Teresa Lobalsamo and Dellannia Segreti discuss Sustaining Community Archives through Student Research and Generative AI. Foodways is a pedagogical tool both for lecture content and assessment. Students visit the Italian Canadian restaurants, interview workers, and post on the website. #MSUDH #DH

At Howard University, they are using Zoom to practice using Digital Playgrounds. Through a Zoom White Board, students can participate in discussion, build on each other’s ideas, and revisit earlier ideas in later class sessions. This allows Professors and students to share a playground. #MSUDH #DH
