Lots of glazing. Lots of dancing. Even some singing.
Tomorrow I’ll finish glazing. Prep the kiln shelves. Maybe even load the kiln for a glaze firing.
It feels great to be back in the studio.

It’s a bisque firing day! That’s when the raw clay is heated to 1888° and then cooled. This makes the items hard yet leaves them porous enough to accept glaze. One more firing is required after the glaze is applied. #muddersdream #wisconsinpotter #pottery #pottersofbluesky

I WAS climbing the walls - not enough studio time. Today I had 7 hours! I cut, weighed & wedged 13# of clay. 6 wine glasses and 4 soup bowls ate up that clay. I worked up about 20# of reclaim with the slab roller. My foot pedal needed adjusting. #muddersdream #potterystudiolife #wisconsinpotter

Drying time changes with temperatures and humidity levels. I tried to trim some pieces thrown Tuesday. This piece wasn’t dry enough and jumped off the wheel it resulted in interesting marks. I added texture, design and shape. #muddersdream #wisconsinpottery #pottery #pottersofbluesky #clay
