New friend on the way to join the @novascotiamuseum.bsky.social Conservation automation team. The Eufy C10 robovacuum is a branch out from the traditional Roomba team, but we are excited to welcome our new friend and get him on site to test out. #museumroomba

One tricky thing about a smart robot vacuum versus a dumb one is that it requires a source of light to work. Not an issue at home but in a museum storage area we don’t leave the lights on. This simple smart light bulb has been the solution it comes on just before the vacuum heads out. #museumroomba

Roomba Todd has been giving me weird errors. Turns out he ate some silicon release Mylar which somehow prevented him from charging. Anyway all fixed up now. #museumroomba

Stopped into the museum to check on New Todd. He needed a software update but he’s going well again. Roombas can tackle a lot of stuff solo but they definitely still need a helping hand. #MuseumRoomba

Today I learned my Roomba Todd sees the world in a different way. I couldn't figure out his mapping until I realized he doesn't follow the tile patterns on the floor the way my brain does. He has a slanted view of things. I think his way is less efficient but that's okay. #MuseumRoomba

Do not release your Roomba when a small water spill has occurred and he has been busy mopping in a really dirty area as he will spread a puddle of dirty water around. Lessons learned. #museumroomba

What have we learned today about museum roombas. Well, if it has dual vacuum mop capacity make sure to do a few vacuum passes in your storage rooms first. If it hasn’t been cleaned for awhile running the mop creates a wet dust that can clog things up. #museumroomba #nsmroomba #museums
