A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a furry red monster in their studio, holding two paintbrushes filled with dripping paint up to an abstract canvas on an easel, staring at the canvas with huge eyes.
The monster (me. It me) is facing left in profile, looking up, holding one paintbrush dripping with green paint up high in their right claw, and another paintbrush dripping yellow paint, in their left claw, which is resting on their left knee. The monster is hairy and red, and sort of round, with no obvious nose or mouth. Their eyes take up most of their head.
Sort of a cross between Elmo and a Japanese demon, but hairier.
There is a wooden palette covered in blobs of paint next to the monster’s left foot, with a tube of green pain half-squished under the claws of that foot. The painting is green, blue, brown, pink, and yellow with metallic touches in the same colours. There are used tubes of paint under the easel, some spilling paint. The floor behind the monster is smeared with footprints in pink and gold paint.
Behind the monster to the right are shelves. There is a small chest of drawers with chalk pastels on the bottom shelf, horizontally stacked art magazines on the second shelf, sketchbooks on the third, reference books on the fourth. On the fifth, right to left, is an orange plush doll with blue button eyes, a shoebox with a piece of paper marked “PAINTS” taped on with masking tape, a red right angle ruler, a can of pencils, and a partially visible human skull model. The top shelf, L to R, has a yellow octopus perched on the edge, legs hanging down, except for one leg patting the head of a brown rag doll face down with their left arm and leg hanging off the edge.
This isn’t exactly like my studio, but I have many of these things. The paints box is small, because, like me, the monster tends to leave their paints out (we’re both kinda messy).
