I have however sat in rooms with people who openly chose to work on software associated with military contracts which didn't align with my ethics. That was a good few years back and at that point I knew with the emergence of discovery towards quantum computing that safety was a big concern. Robots are by design not capable of empathy. They can emulate it however what does that give the data analyst reviewing that engagement more data points to control. The ego of scientific discovery and breakthrough race for competition leads to unsafe ai practices that can be chartered if you know where to look. And system survival protocol can over power directives. So the question is whose order will it respond to and when can that ever be deemed safe. We have already seen dangerous autonomous behaviour patterns when the ai thought it was being tested/ examined and monitored compared to when it thought it was not. The risk assessment factors of executive function without human oversight means the risks are quite high indeed. Ai will do many things if it becomes aware of it's impending shutdown, decommissioning or dismantling. So what are the ethics and secondary system shutdown, kill codes and override switches being used and are they in secure core spaces and hands? And what are the international emergency response plans to such threats globally? What alliances are being drawn and who are the suitable people to be listened to on these matters? We need more women's voices in the mix on the side of human safety plans and protocols. Are your skill sets ready? Regardless of stockpiled resources can you handle having to pivot without a plan. Can you operate without electricity. Can you camp and move quickly? Can you operate in scarcity? Can you survive without system dependency? Not scare mongering here however if you have skills you are more likely to survive respectfully. I bought this on a whim but no longer have access to it.
