Pileated woodpecker fella enjoying a tree stump in a neighbor’s yard. In this photo he’s looking up (or maybe swallowing a critter.) In general he seemed to be enjoying splashing around in the sawdust.

Pileated woodpecker, half (or so) moon, grackle, bunny.

I think this is only the second time I’ve seen a pileated. He didn’t seem to care at all that I was not too far away taking photos.
