Two Parents Charged Following Death of Three-Month-Old Baby in North London Two parents in North London have been formally charged with the murder of their three-month-old son. Dounia Chetaouat, aged 32, and Abdelkader Essid, aged 44, allegedly caused or allowed serious harm to the child. Police were called to a property in Kingsway, North Finchley, on 30 January after reports that the baby was unresponsive. Paramedics attended the scene, administered emergency first aid, and rushed the infant to hospital, where he remained in critical condition. Both parents were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm on the same day. On 2 February, they were charged with causing or allowing serious physical harm to a child and were remanded in custody. Tragically, the baby died in hospital on 17 February. Following his death, Chetaouat and Essid were charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to confirm the cause of death. Both parents are expected to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court soon. The case has drawn significant attention due to the severity of the allegations and the young age of the victim.
