RT @NWEN_org: Congrats to @Stocial, this years winner of EU Idol!!!!!!!! #nweneu
I know several people who would loooove Friends Be Fit. -- too far from a gym, prefer to workout at home, ... #nweneu
biggest cost advantage: only spending a minimum of amount of time on site. @JohnHCook: interesting, need to see it! #nweneu
Here's @JohnHCook's article in @GeekWire on Baby Shower for Guys: http://is.gd/OM17Ow #nweneu
@BrianDudley drills in on Stocial: how big's the market opportunity? initially focusing on institutional investors. #nweneu
@EJCase takes a risk and encourages people to go to the bar before EU Idol! "luck management" in action!!!!! #nweneu
"Succeeding at a startup is all about luck. but it's the kind of luck you make for yourself" #nweneu
@DanShapiro: the things that drive a young company are opportunity. need to create and exploit moments of serendipity #nweneu
@DanShapiro: every startup mistake I've ever seen is people launching too late and not too soon #nweneu
RT @pchee: #nweneu @danshapiro "my real estate contract had a clause where the landlord could block the sale of my startup".
@DanShapiro's advice for the founding team: put everything on the table. (similar to advice in "right team right time" session) #nweneu
RT @DaveParkerSEA: @danshapiro "for the first time entrepreneur ideas die for lack of viability not because someone stole it" #nweneu

Aaron: "I want to be the dumbest guy on our team" #nweneu
Shannon: also be prepared for candidates' Q's -- i've seen companies lose people when execs gave different answers to a question #nweneu
Shannon: my role in the interview is typically looking at culture, so my questions relate to that. #nweneu
Juliana: I don't have a set of questiosn. i'm very much a "gut" kind of person. what's their interest? where's their passion? etc. #nweneu
Aaron: 3 q's: why are you here? what's your dream job? why would you take this job (or not) if we offer it? sets up the close #nweneu
Villette: writing down the job description forces you to think it through. people often do that. #nweneu
Q: what are the key questions you always ask? Villette: I've developed guides for different disciplines over the years #nweneu
Aaron: something that can help a lot with all these issues: customers and revenue. really helps get you focused #nweneu
Aaron: my co-founder and I fought like crazy. we had a 3rd co-founder, chairman, who provided the dispute resolution framework #nweneu
Juliana: nail everything down with co-founders in a legal document. get a good legal team. everybody knows where they sit #nweneu
Villette: rare that all the co-founders stick around for the life of a company. use your first few months as a template #nweneu
Juliana: we hire people for their resumes; we fire them for who they are #nweneu
Villette: VC's look at the quality of the team. the team members aren't part of the company; they ARE the company #nweneu
Aaron: re-recruiting is just as important. i'm re-recruiting my team every day: giving people authority, power to say no, good env #nweneu
Aaron: we do enough stupid stuff, and eventually somethig works out #nweneu
Villette: closing is a sales process. if you ask lots and lots of questions, you'll get the info you need #nweneu
Shannon: if somebody's high-maintenance during the hiring process, they'll continue to be high-maintenance afterwards #nweneu
