The embroidered Scotty dog, described in the next photo, has been cut from its original pocket arrangement, resulting in a square piece of fabric. The embroidery is set on-point on a square of fabric with red flowers, green leaves, and a sprinkling of yellow. A narrow band of tatted trim in blue, red, green, and yellow surrounds the embroidery. The embroidery and floral fabric are surrounded with a band of black fabric. A piano keys border around the central piece consists of green fabric strips, shading into red, shading into yellow. Many different fabrics were used in the border. Some white quilting stitches are visible on the piece. It is bound with a green and turquoise floral fabric. Round red buttons embellish the four corners of the embroidered piece.

An embroidered Scotty dog peers over a wooden fence with its paws resting on the fence. The fence is illustrated by vertical lines of brown embroidery, and horizontal lines for the top of the fence. Yellow and red embroidered flowers grow in green grass in front of the fence. The dog is embroidered in black thread. Its blue eyes look toward its left. It has a big floppy bow tied around its neck, resting behind its left shoulder. The bow is pale green with yellow polkadots outlined in red. The embroidery is on a square fabric piece set on point, with two semi circular openings cut out of the top left and top right of the diamond shape, and bound with pale green fabric. The embroidered piece is backed by another piece of fabric. They are joined around the edge and bound with pale green fabric, to form a sort of pocket. A pale green fabric loop is at the top. Red-handled scissors are in the left-hand pocket, and a couple of vintage button cards are in the right-hand pocket. The embroidered pocket rest on a green cutting board with square grids and diagonal cutting lines marked in yellow.

It started as a vintage embroidered hanging pocket or pouch—embroiderer unknown. I trimmed it, pieced a background, and embellished with vintage tatted trim and old red buttons.
