Damn #OmniOS is fun! I really wish #FreeBSD had SMF, such a neat service management framework: `svcs -xv` is a killer feature. The only meh is a lot of reliance on GNU tools in the illumos userspace toolset.

Not memory issue - tested on two devices (on the same SSD).
Most likely an issue with `bootadm` not being able to properly format the SSD which had #FreeBSD on #ZFS installed before.

I fell down a rabbit hole into a virtual memory layout landscape, trying to better understand how thread stacks are placed under Address Space Layout Randomization. Turns out, there's quite a bit of variability across different Unix flavors.
