A tall heavily-tanned Japanese woman, her forearms densely muscular, with her black hair tied back in a thick bun. She has elegantly severe, somewhat gaunt features and a vicious scar traveling up the left of her jaw through her cheek, exposing teeth and gums before passing up the cheekbone and finally ending in her hairline. She wears a purple surcoat trimmed with gold over a black gi, and has begun to unsheathe a large extremely-curved sword in a purple scabbard with ornate fittings. Fire blasts from the mouth of the scabbard.

Kotoe (2019). Star pupil of the Severant Breath Kenjutsu School. Her odachi is named The Mourning Whisper, said to cut so cleanly that the only sound its victims hear is their own last breath. Kotoe feels she belongs nowhere, and so has nothing to lose by killing.
