Day 6 on the #Ouachita Trail. Sometime last night, after dark I passed the 100 mile mark! Lots of water today. Ate lunch at the Shelter on Suck Mountain. I resupply at the Blue Bell Cafe in Story, Arkansas tomorrow. From there it’s 102 miles to the eastern terminus at Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
Day 5 on the #Ouachita Trail. I hiked 27 miles today, including 20 miles with no water. It rained off and on and when I arrived at the shelter where I camped, it started raining again! I swept the floor, inflated my pad, pulled out my quilt, slammed some vitamin I (ibuprofen) and slept like a baby!
Day 4 on the #Ouachita Trail. My first full day in Arkansas was cold and windy and I enjoyed the sights and views! My legs are feeling strong and I’m sleeping better at night. Didn’t see another hiker all day.

Day 3 on the #Ouachita Trail. Watched the sun rise in the east and the moon set in the west while eating my oatmeal. Crossed the Kiamichi River 10 times in 4 miles, getting my feet wet on most crossings. Stood on the border of Oklahoma and Arkansas. 51 miles down and 172 to go! It was a GREAT day!

Yesterday was a brutal (for me) 10mi slog on the #Ouachita Trail 🥵. @vivacanina, Grits, and Jet Li the wonderdog had to drag me along. Decided the thru-hike is poorly timed for my conditioning post-injury 🤕. So we changed the plan today.
