Image is of a pheasant in a suburban back garden. Brown eyes, red markings round eyes, grey/black/blue round the throat, mottled brown/white/black feathers, and a long striped tail. Beautiful bird, but out of his element in this location. When approached to check for injury, he flew away.

Appeared in our garden today. Very common in this area, but usually found on't moor: not in back gardens. Approached to see if he was injured: he flew away like he was lost, rather than hurt. God speed. #photography #backgarden #pheasant #outofhiselement #birds
