As many of you who follow my work know, I lead a plein air workshop at @greatcampsagamore each summer. This year, the sky was especially varied—sunrises were consistently impressive, moonrises were remarkable, and meteor showers graced the nights. Located southwest of the camp is a parking lot with minimal light pollution, where I would often spend time lying under the open sky, observing the stars. This painting was inspired by those memorable evenings spent stargazing.
