When she was being raised by Hao, she went everywhere with him (He looked for allies all over the world I believe(?)) and she was there with him for so long.

In my SK AU, Meiling replaces Marco midway in X-I after Jeanne agrees to revive Ren only if Yoh leaves the sf and Meiling joins the X-laws.
