“So, our dear ESU isn’t enough for you, Parker?” Alex asks as they exit the room side by side.
Peter’s frown deepens a little, confusion flooding his mind —and apparently, his face too because Alex lets out a little laugh before adding: “Your hoodie, dumbass.”
Peter looks down at his clothes and… oh, yeah. When he rushed this morning, he grabbed the MIT hoodie Harley left at his place. It already isn’t tight on Harley, so it’s big on Peter. He’s not drowning in it, but it goes just past his butt and the sleeves cover his palms in the most comforting way. He smiles a little and looks back up. Alex is waiting, his smirk now turned into a fond smile.
“So?”
“I’ll let you know that ESU is more than enough for me, i don’t need more classes in my already packed schedule, thank you very much,” he snarks back with an equally fond smirk. They’re walking past students, shoulders and elbows brushing every few moments in the busy hallways. Once they’re finally outside and there are fewer people around them, Peter adds softly, “It’s my boyfriend’s.”
Alex’s face softens for a second before splitting into a huge grin, but he remains silent. Peter would barely admit it, but seeing this grin on Alex? It’s terrifying. You never know what’s going on in his head and his capacity to embarrass his friends is truly astonishing. He doesn’t say a word as they walk silently to their favorite hangout spot, a small café outside of campus and, really, this silence is getting on Peter’s nerves. He knows something is brewing in his friend’s mind and his anxiety doesn’t like it.
He tucks his nose into the hoodie and takes a deep breath in. He already misses Harley, and the smell of his weirdly flowery body wash still lingered on the fabric. If he focuses, there is also a faint hint of motor oil from the stubborn hand-shaped stain at the bottom of the hoodie. A soft smile tugs at the corner of his mouth and he lets the familiar scent calm him down.
