More than 100 people gathered in downtown San Francisco today outside the offices of #Anthropic, #OpenAI and #xAI to demand that they #PauseAI and #StopAI and stop the AI race.

This does a pretty good job of summarizing the issue with deep-learning models, how we don't entirely understand how they work; the fact that intelligence is intrisically dual-use which makes alignment difficult as hell, and why it's imperative to pause AI in order to sort things out.
