Because people on foot, with prams, shopping, wheelchairsπ¨πΎβπ¦½, mobility scooters or canesπ©βπ¦―, matter less than one person's desire to protect their car or walk even less... π

A van parked completely on the pavement next to a lamppost. There is also a ladder and a barrier in the way.
#PavementParking UK A very busy road, double yellow lines. Why would you think this is OK?

A row of at least 6 cars all parked at least halfway on the pavement. The gap left is barely enough for a single person to get past. Not enough for me, my guide dog and my cane.
The worst offender. Almost fully on the pavement next to a lamp post.
Every trip to take @guidedogsuk.bsky.social for a well deserved run starts with this. Selfish people choosing to park on the pavement forcing vulnerable pedestrians onto uneven grass or into the road. If this is how they park, think what their driving is like! #PavementParking #Blind #Dogs

With oil prices rising fast, we call upon our politicians to help the cost of living by accelerating the roll out of #ActiveTravel infrastructure, and making our streets less hostile for walking and cycling by creating #ActiveNeighbourhoods and addressing #PavementParking.

I'd rather these pointless, unsafe monsters weren't clogging up Bristol's narrow streets but maybe this is a start to reclaiming road/pavement space actionnetwork.org/events/brist... #PavementParking #RoadSafety

The midday walk to the shops was hindered by #pavementparking again. No way a buggy or wheelchair able to use the pavement here. BTW that is a secondary school and nursery across the street.

This morningβs #pavementparking challenge. Not only difficult for those #walking and #wheeling, but hinders visibility for the contra flow cycle lane.
Iβm looking forward to local authorities implementing enforcement against #pavementparking. Walking across the street from a school at home time should not be a challenge.

A selection of oversized cars plonked on the pavement (footway) in Moseley.
A Moseley #PavementParking chicane.
Anyone trying to get by in a wheelchair or while wheeling g a buggy must try and weave between trees, badly parked cars, a lamppost and other street furniture or brave the fast moving traffic on the carriageway.
