So is this wave of Twitter refugees finally enough to make a #pcaga community here?
It’s been years since I’ve been to #PCAGA - it was great to see so many old friends.
As I reflect on the time, I was really encouraged by the MNA lunch and so thankful for the leadership of Irwyn Ince.
Yes, there are serious problems in the PCA but God is at work!
Neither of y’all could probably kill at the average comedy club, but take comfort in knowing I’m a fan of your polity humor. #SBC25 #PCAGA
Other reporters have been on the scene to cover the #PCAGA and the Christian nationalism debate. S/o to Kailee Shores, who tackled this news after being relatively new to the religion beat @timesfreepress.bsky.social. Here's her report: www.timesfreepress.com/news/2025/ju...
This statement follows a controversy last year in which a PCA pastor said on social media that “the Bible does not condemn chattel slavery per se, and therefore neither can we — as most Presbyterians held." #PCAGA www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
Also, the PCA General Assembly in Chattanooga overwhelmingly voted to endorse a statement that condemns “any theological or political teaching which posits a superiority of race or ethnic identity born of immutable human characteristics.” #PCAGA www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
Members to this newly established committee will be appointed by recently elected #PCAGA moderator Kevin DeYoung. Opponents of Christian nationalism are hopeful DeYoung will appoint members who view Christian nationalism with a more critical lens. www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
There’s been ongoing factionalism in the PCA with one faction that has sought to pull the denomination further to the right. Yet, leaders of that more conservative faction supported the committee to study Christian nationalism. #PCAGA www.tennessean.com/story/news/r....
The decision comes at a time when proponents of Christian nationalism have sought to make inroads in the PCA and the similarly conservative evangelical denomination, the Nashville-based Southern Baptist Convention. #PCAGA www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
STORY: The #PCAGA signaled widespread skepticism toward Christian nationalism at its annual legislative assembly in a bold gesture against self-avowed Christian nationalists who have sought to make inroads within the denomination. www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
Interesting response here from Stephen Wolfe, author of "The Case for Christian Nationalism," on the #PCAGA establishing a committee to study Christian nationalism, which is seen as a gesture against Christian nationalism. I think he's upset but he also called it a "big win." 🤔
2025 PCA General Assembly adjourned. Maybe see you in Louisville next year, Presbyterians. #PCAGA
#PCAGA overwhelmingly votes to endorse the following statement (👇🏼) in yet another gesture against Christian nationalism.
Now, #PCAGA takes up overture to endorse the following statement (👇🏼).
PCA General Assembly overwhelmingly approves overture to establish committee to study Christian nationalism. The members will be appointed by #PCAGA moderator Kevin DeYoung.
True to my word, Presbyterians. Watching from home, even on the TV. Right now they’re dealing with the overture on establishing a committee to study Christian nationalism. #PCAGA

STORY: Following early commotion in the PCA about "Jesus Calling” and Sarah Young, an inquiry into the popular devotional ended with a whimper.
“It being a non-event was the best-case scenario.” Stephanie van der Westhuizen, Sarah Young’s daughter, told me. #PCAGA www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
Alright friends, I’m headed back to Nashville. Filed my “Jesus Calling” story (which includes reflections from Sarah Young’s family, who I interviewed this morning) and will share it later. I’ll watch out later for the Christian nationalism debate. #PCAGA
MTW report ends, nothing more on "Jesus Calling" from the #PCAGA.
We're now hearing the Mission to the World report, which is where the second of 2 reports on "Jesus Calling" will be. Though I'm expecting it to be somewhat uneventful. Reminder of that report: byfaithonline.com/mtw-and-cdm-...
#PCAGA
Here’s that (👆🏼) statement they’re planning to take up later on whether to adopt. #PCAGA
Later today, they’ll deal with overtures to establish a committee on Christian nationalism and whether to adopt another statement on Christian citizenship. I’ll have to catch up with that online afterward. #PCAGA
Good morning from my third and final day of being at the PCA General Assembly in person. I’m heading back to Nashville this morning and sticking around for the second and final agency report on “Jesus Calling.”
Presbyterians, appreciate y’all’s hospitality. #PCAGA
Alas, I will not be allowed to attend American Reformer's panel tonight, a relevant event to the upcoming #PCAGA debates on Christian nationalism (lu.ma/efkqw8yd?tk=...).
#PCAGA STORY: The PCA's collective outrage over its top administrative official publicizing a list of “scandalizers” was unified in its appreciation for that official formally stepping down. My story on Bryan Chapell's apology: www.tennessean.com/story/news/r...
Likely, these reports will stand because committees on commissioners earlier this week didn't pursue substitute reports to more strongly denounce "Jesus Calling." But I'll wait for the floor debate to see if that in fact will be the outcome. #PCAGA
So, this morning and tomorrow morning I'm watching for a debate on the devotional "Jesus Calling" by the late Nashville author Sarah Young. An overture last year called for an inquiry by two PCA agencies, and here are their reports: byfaithonline.com/mtw-and-cdm-...
