Auf dem Bild ist eine Warft mit einem großen, reetgedeckten Bauernhaus und einem kleineren, ebenfalls reetgedeckten Nebengebäude zu sehen. Die Warft ist von einem Gewässer umgeben, das im Vordergrund unscharf und spiegelglatt erscheint, was auf eine Langzeitbelichtung hindeutet. Am Ufer der Insel wächst hohes Gras, und entlang des Wasserrandes sind Holzpfähle zu erkennen. Der Himmel ist bedeckt mit einer Mischung aus weißen und grauen Wolken. Das Licht ist diffus und weich.
