Mosaic-heavy 4th century hunting lodge buried in mud during a landslide triggered by a big earthquake in 1169. Restoration began in 1929. Spectacular mosaic work.

A very ornate Italian doorway. The door is four rectangular panels with inset panels. The skylight above the door is a semicircle with very elaborate ironwork. The doorjambs are highly decorated and support a semicircular arch and a flat pediment above. The whole is carved in warm yellow stone.
