picks of the year 2025 7th sweat by jonah yorke

from sfp author opal moritz:
Jonah Yorke’s MM sports romance Sweat took me by surprise - I was hooked from the first couple of pages, and got swept away by the emotional highs and lows of these two adorable soccer players. Angsty read of the year (with a killer HEA!)

Our author Opal Moritz is not only our resident Heated Rivalry stan, she also wanted to recommend another #mmsportsromance for our #bestof2025 selections - she couldn't put down Jonah Yorke's SWEAT. Pick up a copy now!

film posters the sting
butch cassidy and the sundance kid

picks of the year 2025 5th film posters the sting butch cassidy and the sundance kid

From SFP author Trixie Domino:
I recently rewatched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting, and I will go to my grave insisting that they are queer classics. You will never convince me that the polyamory in Butch Cassidy is not canon, and The Sting gives our boys the happy ending they deserve. To paraphrase a Tumblr post: movies used to be about something. And that something was Paul Newman and Robert Redford gazing at each other.

Remembering Robert Redford in our #bestof2025 selections, and how he was part of two queer classics (according to our author Trixie Domino).

from sfp author Daisy Fairchild:

in 2025 i fell in love all over again with the album Heartthrob, by Teagan & Sara! it's *mumble mumble* years old now, but it's got such good bangers on it that i loved so much as a baby queer, and lbr, they're such sapphic icons! can't say enough good things about this album, hit it up if you haven't in a while, it really holds up!!

leech by hiron ennes

picks of the year 2025 leech by hiron ennes

From SFP author Rena Butler: Ever wondered what would happen if the Thing from The Thing was the point-of-view character in a postapocalyptic gothic horror novel? Me neither! But I still heartily recommend Leech by Hiron Ennes. Essentially, a parasitic hivemind that is now humanity’s only provider of medical care visits a crumbling castle in a frigid wasteland to investigate the death of one of its hosts. There is body horror aplenty and all the psychological twistiness you’d expect from gothic horror, but I am pleased to announce that the dog lives and is fine! Also there are people with tails, worker uprisings, creepy twins, and some fun gender fuckery.

Something spooky for our #bestof2025 picks from our author Rena Butler - she loved the book LEECH by Hiron Ennes. Check it out and keep following for more of our 2025 faves!

sword dance by aj demas

picks of the year 2025 sword dance by aj demas

from SFP author Augusta Connor:

In 2025 I was introduced to a new author, AJ Demas, who I've quite enjoyed. Her work is, like ours, queer romance, and she works in classics, which is an area near and dear to my heart. I especially enjoyed her Sword Dance trilogy, 10/10 very much recommend.
