3 chapters in to my third book reread. Everything starts so fast that I'm immediately drawn in.
When I struggled to start Horizon, I asked my sister for advice. She said blow something up. Best advice, really.

Equipped with my laptop, a blankie, and both cats, I'm ready to dive into my incomplete third book. Let's hope we get unstuck by the time I get to where I stopped.
#pinaprereads
Sadly, my incomplete third book isn't on kindle so I'll have to read it at home or via a PDF copy I've sent my sister. Today is Not an Internet day for me, so we're gonna chew on some other books in the TBR pile for today.

Void, book 2 in my series is completely reread!
Man. This is such a good book. I'm really glad my bestie helped me complete it. I'm so enamored with how I grew as a writer and storyteller in it.
Next is to reread the 75k I have of book 3, Horizon!

Originally, I had never planned for Ahvram to experience his magic being taken away. But when I wrote this particular fight it flowed that he would have his own magic nullified. It really builds the scene and shows him how integral his magic is to him. Once again, go me.
#pinaprereads
Once again, the twins steal the show.
#pinaprereads
Hector you beautiful bastard. How do I always write you so perfectly? The scene where he talks to Ahvram in the hospital is perfect.
#pinaprereads
The fight scene with Butcher in the woods is still 🤌 It came out just as I envisioned. Void really is such a step up from Null. I love it.
#pinaprereads
Damn I really did just give all my best lines to Elder Mehriál, didn't I?
#pinaprereads
In Null, I had interludes in the forms of chapters from books in the world. It was a way to world build without having the character have to tell us everything.
In Void, the interludes are letters between characters. I love them so much. It really helped me get their voices.
#pinaprereads
The twins are so gosh darn cute. I really want to write a story set in the future with them...
#pinaprereads
My side characters are always rad. Elder Mehriál is a treat of a woman.
#pinaprereads
Man. The Heart of the Forest is the coolest location I've ever created. Go me.
#pinaprereads
Today is a slow day at work so I have time to get back to reading. Chapter 5 is so good in book 2 because I kick off the main story so quickly. Void is definitely my favorite of the series so far 💕
#pinaprereads
Devika is another fantastic side character. I really should do another novella with her getting to star. Now I just need ideas...
#pinaprereads
Oh, yeah, Hector tricks Ahvram into going out with him. Void is so much fun from the start.
#pinaprereads
It is a perfect day to read at the beach.
#pinaprereads
It's kind of wild how I nearly threw out book 2. I was struggling so hard with it, hated the entire book, and then my bestie asked to read it. I said it was crap but go ahead. She ate through it in like 2 days. Then, she came back and work shopped Void with me. 1/?
#pinaprereads
Void probably has my favorite first chapter of the series. I love the ink scene 💕
#pinaprereads
Work is slow, time to start book 2 of my series: Void.
#pinaprereads
And just like that, Unbroken Glass and Metal Scaps is reread!
Honestly, it's a good little mystery with a flair of magic. It does the job of bridging Nukl and Void, and it gives some side characters a chance to shine. I'm really happy with it. I should do more little novellas~
#pinaprereads
I forgot how much I let my humor out by the time I was writing Unbroken Glass. I'm actually funny in this one 😂
#pinaprereads
Maybe I'm a better writer than I give myself credit for. Unbroken Glass sets a lot of the foundation for Void so well with the talk of curses and the lack of curse masters in the City.
#pinaprereads
I forgot all about lil old Maurice 💕 He was an awesome addition to the story.
#pinaprereads
Man, the world of difference in my writing skill between Null and Unbroken Glass is so obvious. I was definitely more confident when I wrote the novella. Everything feels more streamlined. It's good to see my growth, but it makes me see the flaws in book 1 more.
#pinaprereads
Oh yeah, Unbroken Glass is my first attempt at a mystery 😂
#pinaprereads
It's sort of funny how Unbroken Glass came about. As I was writing Void, it became clear that a side character was basically going to have very little to do with the story. Usually this isn't an issue, but Dominic is my sister's favorite character from Null. 1/?
#pinaprereads
I am a doof and nearly forgot about my novella! It takes place between Null and Void.
I'll be starting Unbroken Glass and Metal Scraps today!
#pinaprereads
I'm proud of it, even if I cringe at some faults and faux pas. Null is the first book I've ever published and I love it. I love my world and my characters. Past me would have never thought I could do this, but I did. I'm even more excited to continue the story. 3/3
#pinaprereads
I think Null being messy is a good thing. It shows where I started, what latent writing skill I had, and is a good jumping off point for me. I wrote Null during COVID, after I ended an abusive friendship, and I did it for me. I wrote it to prove that I could. 2/?
