Blunt. A serious question and a juvenile response.
DeLorey might be on the money here but it came off like he was trying to score points.

Kudos to all the NDP “Power & Politics” panelists who are on tonight discussing the convention - talking up the strengths of their party, the candidates, their hopes for the leadership vote & the future of the party - honestly - without blind loyalty, no blinkers on.

Good grief - what does this say - Fred DeLorey just said on “Power & Politics” he doesn’t remember the names of 2 of the candidates who are running for NDP leadership!? 🙄
Yes he’s a conservative but he’s a political panelist.
It’s Friday & I’m expecting too much.

Hosting is not Tasker’s forte - but I’ll say this for him - I’ve seen an improvement as the week has unfolded - with the odd clunker thrown in. And he does a better job than I could ever do 😉
#pnpcbc
“A bit of a coronation?”
Really J. P. Tasker you used that expression as you asked Avi Lewis if he expects to win the NDP leadership vote?
Off to a roaring start tonight.
#cdnpoli #pnpcbc
#ndpleadership
Lack of depth definitely.
And sadly no one is asking for our input 😉
#pnpcbc
Asking Rob Ashton if he’ll work with the new NDP leader if it isn’t him - though Tasker was directly asking about working with Avi Lewis if elected - that’s a no win question to be asked.
To his credit Mr. Ashton answered graciously.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
A world leader - Trump - speaking about another country - Iran -
they’ve been “beaten to sh*t” - in a segment shown while Katie Simpson was in discussion with J. P. Tasker on “Power & Politics”.
Blunt, boorish & belligerent. Exactly what we’ve come to expect from that man.

I’ve thought for months that the format of PnP has become stale & needs refreshing. David does a great job of orchestrating the parts to keep it moving but the battery is low. His leave has highlighted that for me. Without his energy the format “flaws” of PnP that I perceive are obvious.
#pnpcbc
It’s absolutely bizarre. Is there anyone who can make it make sense?
Maybe that interview with Richard Gere added an “entertainment” element 😉
#pnpcbc
Ohhhhh please #pnpcbc
Heather McPherson NDP leadership candidate on “PnP”avoided answering J.P. Tasker’s question - is she using surrogates to say negative things about Avi Lewis - and sadly Tasker let the question slide & didn’t push back to ask the question again.
One could read that as a “yes”.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
Every time I see the clip of Doug Ford standing at a building site promoting the HST rebate on new homes I’m reminded of a Toronto commercial by a guy who would shout on camera that he’d buy back your gold, your jewelry and invite you to come on down to his store.
#onpoli #pnpcbc
Great point by Jordan Leichnitz about QP being a performance with one liners and slogans so they can be cut and used as clips on social media.
Politics of the country as performance art. This is where we are.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
Fascinating poll results Shachi Kurl of Angus Reid Institute is sharing on “PnP” - that 44% of past NDP voters don’t recognize the names of those running for leader.
If people don’t watch political programmes that doesn’t surprise me.
24% say the NDP is irrelevant.
No surprise.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
One of these things is not like the others. 🤔
An odd combination in this category of nominations for the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards.
Political issues from around the world & Canada - mixed in with entertainment gossip, cooking & lifestyle.
Serious world news vs. fluff.
Good luck!

And look at me turning off “Power & Politics” to watch reruns (unheard of!) because this “power rankings panel” trio will have me losing my mind at my tv. And I’ve got enough on my plate today.
#pnpcbc
Thank you for watching that and posing this question.
I changed channels while that panel was on and I generally like listening to Emilie Nicholas and Nathan Cullen.
#pnpcbc
Ravi Parmar, B.C. Forests Minister doing the work being in Ottawa to speak to the necessary Federal Ministers. Hopefully the squeaky wheel gets the platform to be heard. Liked also his condemnation of the US Lumber Coalition for the misinformation they spread.
#pnpcbc #cdpoli
Look at me skipping today’s power panel on today’s “Power & Politics” for more than one reason.
#pnpcbc
Fucking asshole Conservatives lying to Canadians again.
And never fucking called out by #pnpcbc or anyone else.
Go dog whistle somewhere else fucks.
Media, do your damned jobs and report this malfeasance.

There really isn’t a glut of talent in their stable for CBCNN to choose from. And we’ve been spoiled with the calibre of David Cochrane’s journalistic depth & his hosting style. It must be an incredibly difficult position to be put in to fill that chair.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
I know I sound like a broken record but Rob Russo is the only panelist I want to hear from on a Monday night “Power & Politics”. He doesn’t just offer an insightful opinion, he backs it up with knowledge, his own research, facts - and tonight - figures.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
This fucking Power Panel segment is going to make me lose my mind. #PnPCBC
Tasker again this week. #PnPCBC
I share your viewpoint. And with regard to @gregmaceachern.bsky.social he never panders, never jumps on the bandwagon. He is true to his beliefs and speaks hard truths about what he sees with respect & no excuses. The world needs more of that from those with a platform.
#cdnpoli #pnpcbc
Zain Velji referred to the Rogan podcast “an infomercial” re Poilievre’s appearance but called it a win-win.
#cdnpoli #pnpcbc
Yes Mélanie Richer, you’re correct. Canadians are exhausted with the United States.
#pnpcbc #cdnpoli
Everything @gregmaceachern.bsky.social said this evening about Poilievre’s appearance on the Rogan podcast was completely on point. From the pundits suddenly being complimentary, the medium being the message, to the Fidel Castro poke in the eye. Thank you for your honest assessment.
