A lot where shrubbery and two huge redcedars were growing around a small house has been stripped, a load of rocks brought in, and a huge hole for another huge house has been dug. There are the big cedar trunks, remnants of the trees, piled haphazardly by the sidewalk. Another house sits next to the lot, and right next to the excavation, without even an embankment retainer. Someone should be sued for this sloppy work. It's so stupid: increase the hardscapes on a hill, dig a big hole and destroy the soil structure, in a rainy season, increase the runoff, etc etc. Seattle keeps destroying its trees and wondering why there are landslides.
