Jazz is really good for writing music. I have an Afrofuturist playlist I wrote to while working on the Remixing Wakanda project and there were a few jazz songs which would transition into Sun Ra or Parliament and man was it perfect. Still use it when writing sometimes! #popplaypod

My dissertation was on hip hop, education, critical literacy, and democratic practices in schools.
I learned how to produce music, press vinyl records, write graffiti, etc.

my fandom impacted my actions though. It required cutting school (!) to get an Outkast tape (ATLiens) from Sam Goody at the mall when it came out and then listening to it in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot. (That sentence is 1000 years old) #popplaypod
