A one of a kind vintage 1990s handmade art glass abstract post-modern spiral design multicolor paperweight sculpture by renowned Czech glass artist/designer Pavel Havelka (b.1969, Czech Republic). So much thought and experience and glass-making expertise go into each of his creations, and they are all fascinating and beautiful and true treasures of glass art! This paperweight is much more than just a utilitarian object in my estimation, and is really a small sculpture to grace your desk and your home! Three flat faces of polished surface provide windows into the internal world of this sculpture to view the spiral or tornado of bright colorful threads of glass in yellow, orange, pink and turquoise! The remainder of the surface of the object is given a satin finish thru which you can still see the colors, and light passes thru, but the threads are less defined and more vague in shape. At bottom there is one more flat surface to provide a foot for the object to stand in place, and the artist has placed his hand-etched signature there, "Pavel Havelka". There is no date or other information given, but I am guesstimating the age to be about 20-25 years old. The paperweight measures 4" tall by 4-3/8" in diameter, and weighs about 3.5 pounds total prior to packing. As noted above and shown in my photos, the objects is hand-signed by the artist at the bottom. Excellent vintage condition.
