Exploring shape in Room 9. Creating rockets from 3D objects, skeleton shapes, using ICT to sort shapes, guessing shapes and picking a shape ‘chilli challenge’. Great cooperation and communication skills demonstrated today in P4! 🔴🔸🟪 #mathsinaction #practicalmaths
Primary 7 working on measuring angles using protractors in maths! 📐📏 #activelearning #practicalmaths
Primary 3 from Room 7 were learning about ‘estimation’. They used lots of different resources around their class to have a rough guess of how many objects there were and then checked their estimates by counting! 👍🏼 #practicalmaths #mathsinaction
Room 5 were very busy outside estimating and measuring length in centimetres today. The sunshine was an added bonus! ☀️📏📝 #outdoorlearning #practicalmaths
Today, Year 1 used different objects to measure the length and height of things around the classroom. We even had some creative children measure the length of their school shoes! #practicalmaths
Year 1 have loved a practical Maths morning comparing height. They were set a mission to order themselves in height order- without talking! 🙊 They did well! The Maths work and silence was golden! #practicalmaths
Year 1 have had a busy morning. Class assembly one minute, the next 2D shape detectives. They looked around the school for 2D shapes and discovered the school is full of circles! They then created 2D shape monsters- they’re quite frightening! #practicalmaths #beawareofthesquare
